What Is Pro-Nox™?

Pro-Nox™ is a patient-controlled analgesia system that delivers a 50/50 mixture of nitrous oxide (commonly known as “laughing gas”) and oxygen. This combination provides quick relief from pain and anxiety, allowing patients to remain conscious and responsive during their procedure.

Side Effects

Pro-Nox™ is generally very well-tolerated, but some patients may experience minor side effects that are short-lived and subside quickly after discontinuation of the gas, such as dizziness and nausea.

Contraindications

While Pro-Nox™ is safe for most patients, there are some contraindications to consider including pregnancy, hypersensitivity to nitrous oxide, vitamin B12 deficiency, certain respiratory conditions like pneumothorax, active ear infection, middle ear occlusion, eye surgery with intra-ocular gas injection within the last 6 weeks, decompression sickness, and severe abdominal distension due to intestinal obstruction.

Cost

The cost of adding Pro-Nox™ to your procedure is an additional $100 out-of-pocket expense due at time of the procedure. This fee covers the use of the Pro-Nox™ system, ensuring you have a comfortable and anxiety-free experience.
